ACADEMIC GOALS
Goal 1:
Students will be proficient and
improved readers of the English Language.
- Measure: 75% of Atlas Prep students who have attended the school for two or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the CSAP Reading
test in 8th grade. 70% of students who have attended the school for two or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced in 7th grade, along with
65% of students in the 6th grade.
- Measure: The percentage of Atlas Prep students who have attended the
school for two or more years who attain a CSAP Reading score of Proficient or
Advanced in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades will exceed the average percentage for Harrison School District Two by at least 15%.
- Measure: Each sub-group of students will make Adequate Yearly Progress in
reading as defined by the No Child Left Behind legislation.
- Measure: In a cohort analysis of longitudinal growth, the average annual increase of
percentiles among Atlas Prep students on the Stanford 10 Reading Test will
average 5 percentiles per year until the average percentile score reaches 75.

test in 8th grade. 70% of students who have attended the school for two or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced in 7th grade, along with
65% of students in the 6th grade.
- Measure: The percentage of Atlas Prep students who have attended the
school for two or more years who attain a CSAP Writing score of Proficient or
Advanced in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades will exceed the average percentage for Harrison School District Two by at least 15%.
- Measure: In a cohort analysis of longitudinal growth, the average annual increase of
percentiles among Atlas Prep students on the Stanford 10 Writing Test will
average 5 percentiles per year, until the average percentile score reaches 75.

of skills and
content knowledge in mathematics.
- Measure: 75% of Atlas Prep students who have attended the school for two or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the CSAP Math
test in 8th grade. 70% of students who have attended the school for two or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced in 7th grade, along with
65% of students in the 6th grade.
- Measure: The percentage of Atlas Prep students who have attended the
school for two or more years who attain a CSAP Math score of Proficient or
Advanced in the 7th and 8th grade will exceed the average percentage for Harrison School District Two by at least 15%.

Goal 4:

content knowledge in science.
- Measure: 75% of Atlas Prep students who have attended the school for two
or more years will score in the Proficient or Advanced category on the CSAP Science
test in 8th grade. 50% of students will score in the Proficient or Advanced in 5th grade.
- Measure: The percentage of Atlas Prep students who have attended the
school for two or more years who attain a CSAP Science score of Proficient or
Advanced in the 8th grade will exceed the average percentage for Harrison School District Two by at least 15%.
- Measure: 8th Grade students will design, conduct, and report on an extensive independent science experiment. Students will present this experiment to a panel of at least 3 expert evaluators; 95% of students will demonstrate competence according to a rigorous and uniform rubric, and 50% of students will demonstrate advanced work.

Goal 5:
Students will demonstrate proficiency of skills and content
knowledge in history.
- Measure: 8th Grade students will research, write, and orally present a 10-page thesis
paper which will be evaluated by a panel of at least three expert evaluators. 95% of
students will demonstrate competence according to a rigorous and uniform rubric, and 50% of students will demonstrate advanced work.

Goal 6:
English Language Learners at Atlas Prep will progress
academically at least
at the same rate as all students in the
school on yearly administered tests.
- Measure: The average percentile increase on the Stanford 10 tests in Reading,
Writing, and Mathematics among English Language Learners at Atlas Prep
will equal or exceed the average percentile increase of all students in the school.
